Suzanne is a Co-founder and VP Sales and Marketing of SolPowered Energy Corp., a solar energy developer that specializes in the deployment of medium and large photovoltaic (PV) solar systems on building rooftops. Established in 2009, it offers its customers turnkey installations with long-term, guaranteed returns through the Ontario Power Authority’s Feed-In-Tariff (“FIT”) program. In addition to this core installation service, SolPowered provides Solar PV Engineering Consulting Services, performance fee incentives, operation and maintenance services and energy generation revenues. SolPowered is also the first and only company in Ontario to offer a Firefighter Solar PV Safety Training Course, and demand has been so high that the company has already trained hundreds of firefighters throughout the province.
As a highly motivated, charismatic and performance-driven professional, Suzanne has focused on ensuring SolPowered sustains not only continued growth, but is also recognized as a green industry leader and trusted service provider. Her focus on people—by fostering long-term relationships with employees, clients and partners—has fuelled the company’s early successes with sales, profitability and expansion. All projects to date have been profitable and are at, or above, targeted profit levels. Revenues are still growing. To date, SolPowered has already contributed to more than 50 new green jobs. While CEO of a billboard advertising company, she grew the business from 5k to 600k in sales and expanded it from Ottawa throughout Canada and bought the rights to the U.S. within two years. She was also hired to open and manage a resort in the Turks and Caicos only 10 weeks before the grand opening—and successfully opened it two weeks ahead of schedule while exceeding all financial and operational targets.
Suzanne is an active member of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) and the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA). With CanSIA, she serves as a Solar Ambassador by promoting solar power to individuals, municipalities, government and businesses.
